Lots of volunteers

“What’s the total?”

Pete Van Nuys, Executive Director of the Orange County Bicycle Coalition kept asking, but we won’t know until tomorrow.

Attendance was excellent for this first of its kind auction fundraiser. About 125 preregistered. There were 60 items at auction or raffle; we had a live auctioneer, too. April Morris and Joan Littauer did much of the work; Malcolm Hill and I were mostly just sounding boards for this dynamic duo.

Of course, the auction was all about raising money for the Bike Safety Improvement Fund the City established and every dollar raised is matched 3:1.

There were lots of bikes at auction

Don DiCostanzo donated a Pedego electric bike

Bike Religion’s John Tzinberg with Malcolm Hill and friend

Stacy Kline and Barbara Peters reconnected

We had a professional auctioneer

Kendall Madson and I were in a fierce bidding battle over this sign,
then it turned out there were two signs and we each got one

Yes, we did have a car to auction off and Kelly won it
