The stock market dropped Friday morning. This causes my wife anxiety and her way of balancing these economic scales – she put me on a budget as I plan my next bike overnight.

A bike overnight that's close to home

I knew there was camping down there, but it seemed too close to home to warrant much investigation. Crystal Cove State Park, maybe it’s 3.00 miles away, so how could it feel like a getaway?

Then I decided to look closer. I found out that it’s almost sold out for the entire summer.

I rented a tent campsite for Sunday July 15th; it accommodates up to 8. This should be a fun bike overnight. I can bring my dog, too.

One bike riding buddy suggested we could go to breakfast at Crystal Cove Promenade the next day. I countered that we could go out to dinner, too. It’s close in.

Reserve America handles the online reservations; one night is kinda pricey for sleeping on the ground: $58. But if you split it 8 ways…

Why not join us as bikeNewportBeach does a very local bike overnight?
