Halloween Costume Shopping

Batty apron

Batty apron is perfect for bike riding

We never would’ve found it if we weren’t shopping by bike.

We were wrapping up a 20-mile ride to Huntington Beach for lunch when on the way back Barbara wanted to stop on Balboa Island at the olive oil store. Sure.

The pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk had us moving slowly and as we did I saw pumpkins in the window of The Gift Box at 288 Marine Ave. Maybe they had something to decorate the bikes for the upcoming CdM Haunted House and Halloween Costume Bike Ride on Saturday October 26th at 10am starting from the Civic Center? Barbara went in to look while I watched the bikes.

In just a minute she found the perfect outfit for the Halloween Ride — an orange skirt with bats. We both laughed; it’s a great find!

It’s not too late for you to be shopping for your bike-appropriate costume. We’ll have prizes for best costume, in several categories, for kids and moms & dads, so start looking. It’s a bonus if you shop by bike!
