Noontime ferry crowds

There’s 2 shifts every day, morning and afternoon, when the Junior Guards flood the peninsula. The time in between often coincides with my lunch after a bike ride up the coast.

I enjoy sitting at a restaurant right at Main and E. Balboa Blvd — there’s a lot of action to observe as the kids come and go, on foot and on bike. Today I heard one lifeguard bark, “Walk your bike through the intersection!” So they’re getting some good advice.

The kids and bikes and tourists are keeping the Balboa Is ferry at overflow.

It’s great to see so many young bike riders.
